Modulating Furnaces and Modulating Air conditioners

If you’re looking for the very best in home comfort look no further. Modulating Furnaces and the air conditioners are some of the best units you could choose for your home. These units offer precise comfort and can adjust their heating and cooling outputs at 1 percent increments to provide just the right amount of heating or cooling that your home needs. These units also have a variable speed blower so it automatically adjusts airflow as needed to help maintain consistent temperatures throughout your home and help eliminate hot or cold spots.

2 stage Furnaces and 2 Stage Air conditioners

2 stage furnaces and air conditioning units can be up to 96% efficient in their gas usage, up to 21 SEER efficient for air conditioners and offer variable speed blowers that can adjust airflow automatically to help maintain consistent temperatures throughout the home. These units can be especially helpful in large homes that only have one system.

Single Stage Furnaces and Air conditioners

Single stage units are probably what you have in your home right now. The furnace or air conditioner either runs at 100% of its ability or it is off. In some homes this may create a bit of a temperature swing causing your home to have some hot and cold spots. In some cases you are happy with the performance of your unit but it is getting older and less than reliable. We have many single stage units starting from a simple 80% gas furnace with standard blower motor or up to a 95% efficient furnace with a high efficiency blower motor.

Blower Motors

If you’re shopping for a new heating and cooling system you have probably heard about variable blower motors. There are 3 main choices for blower motors for your new system. We have listed a brief description of each to help explain the differences.
Variable Speed Blower Motor: This is the best of the three choices. This electronically controlled motor can automatically change speeds depending on the heating or cooling demand and the duct static pressure. It also uses up to 2/3 less energy to do the same job as a standard blower motor. This will result in more even temperatures throughout the home.

Constant Torque Blower motors: These are similar to variable speed blower motors in operating efficiency but they do not adjust automatically. They maintain a “constant torque” depending on duct static pressure and speed setting. These are a popular choice when using single stage heating or cooling equipment but still want the added benefit of energy savings.

Standard Blower motor: This is probably the blower motor you have currently. These motors are old technology. They use approximately 2/3 more electricity to do their job and do not adjust to compensate for duct work that may be restricting airflow. These are used mostly in entry level furnaces.
